Logan's Story

Born on May 8th, 2018, Logan Jack Stokes was a bright light in the lives of all who met him. Despite his brief time with us, Logan's spirit was immense, marked by his battle with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome—a severe condition demanding surgeries and a heart transplant from a very young age. Before he turned one, Logan had faced more surgeries than most endure in a lifetime and spent countless days in the hospital. His medical journey was complicated by vein stenosis and, heartbreakingly, at two years old, he was removed from the transplant lists at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and in St. Louis, deemed unable to survive the procedure.

Amid these profound challenges, the Stokes family faced each day with an inspiring blend of courage and hope. They found joy in Logan's indomitable spirit, ensuring that his days outside hospital walls were filled with laughter and love. From feeling the sand at the beach under his toes, to being a ring bearer at a wedding, or enjoying his own playground in the living room—every moment was a treasure.

The Friends of Logan charity was born out of a desire to support families navigating these heart-wrenching paths, helping to ease the financial strains that come with prolonged medical care. This charity seeks to enable families to focus on creating precious memories in the midst of their challenges.
